Federal Postal Coalition Writes Congress

Last week the Federal-Postal Alliance, which AFSCME is a part of, sent a letter to all Members of the House of Representatives urging them to vote against Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan’s proposed Fiscal Year 2012 Concurrent Resolution on the budget.
The
letter states: “The assumptions in the
resolution proposing to freeze federal
employee pay for five years, cut the workforce
by 10 percent, and require
employees to significantly increase their
contributions to the Civil Service
Retirement and Disability Fund are unfair and
unreasonable, even in the current
budget atmosphere.”
Unfortunately
the bill passed so the battle
now moves to the Senate where it has less
